Experiencing the Self

In this training we will explore various elements of practice, diving into what it means engage sustainable practices that lead to deep experiences of Self. The Eight Limbs of Yoga offers 50 hours of deep inquiry into the practices of the yamas and niyamas; yogic technology based on asana, kriya, mantra, pranayama, and meditation; and the study of the ancient sutras. In this training discover your deep connection to YOURSELF, just as you are, and learn how to navigate your daily life with these profound tools. This is open to all interested Yogis. Create a toolkit of practices to embrace the connection to authenticity, and share your passion with others. We'll explore within the wheel of the Eight Limbs, with moments of challenge and integration.
We will Explore:
The excavation of your personal practice to uncover your inner connection to Self. Our work will remove the layers of conditioned reactions so you can delight in BEING YOU.
Deepening our understanding of the lineage and application of the Eightfold Path through the lens of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation, and Hatha yoga practices.
Learn how different mudras, mantras, kriyas and meditations produce different functional effects.
Learn to work with the vibrational effects of the sacred sound current.
Explore and practice the truly integrated practice of the Eight Limbs Yoga with:
Kundalini Kriya: Deepen the experience with Tapas and Surrender
Meditation: The Journey from Pratyhar to Samadhi
Mantra and bhakti: Open your heart and your voice in a practice of surrender, empowerment, and the Self.
Asana & alignment: Come to the physical practice as a means to awakening, liberation, and compassion.
Pranayama: Connect with breath and the subtle body to nourish your life force
Ethics: Get real with the yamas and niyamas, which are tools for an integrated life
Find your voice: Work with others to apply what you are learning to your teaching, sharing and practice.
This course is open to both yoga practitioners and Yoga Teachers. Those Teachers who complete the training will be eligible for 50 hours of Yoga Alliance Credit.

How do I get there? If you are travelling to Haida Gwaii, you want to take the flight to Sandpit, Haida Gwaii. There is one flight per day. This means you will need to fly up on Wednesday November 6th and plan a return on Tuesday the 12th. The Eagle Transit shuttle will pick you up directly at the airport, and bring you to Charlotte to your choice of residence. You WILL need a reservation. Do I need a car? You do not need a car. The town of Charlotte can be walked with ease. You WILL need a good pair of walking boots, waterproof coat, and perhaps a rain cover for a back-pack (or good umbrella). There is space to store your supplies at the yoga studio. However, if you would like a car, you can rent one.
Where should I stay? There are many good places to stay. I recommend Spruce Point Lodge as it is an easy walk to the Sun Yoga Studio. However you can check out a variety of Bed and Breakfasts as well. Be clear that they are within walking distance of the Sun Studio if you are not renting a car. The Spruce Point Lodge rooms come with a fully stocked kitchenette (pots/pans/dishes) so you can make your own food. Many rooms have two beds. What about food? There is a local grocery store and Isabelle Creek Natural Foods within walking distance for shopping. Again, a sturdy back-pack will serve you on Haida Gwaii. There are a few restaurants as well, if you do not want to cook. You will want to have provisions to pack a lunch, as our breaks will not be long enough to walk to and from a cafe. (Restaurant hours can fluctuation in November based on weather, so shopping is recommended).
